Valerian Root


This is one of the most pungent holistic healing herbs that are still be used today. It smells very strong and is known for being a plant that the drug Valium was derived from. You should not take Valerian root for more than three weeks for depression or insomnia.

It is a potent herb and should be used with caution. Too much Valerian Root can disrupt your deep sleep, which will lead to tiredness even if you are getting a good amount of sleep each night.

Holistic healing herbs can help alleviate symptoms of depression, but if your depression gets worse or you have suicidal thoughts, you will want to seek the help of a medical professional immediately for further treatment.
